Join Mankato’s NorseMN as we host a Viking Sauna Retreat at our very own local Minneopa State Park. Join us at Group Site 1 for a day of viking stories, activities, games and trivia. We will have our ice house sauna and ice bath for those brave enough to take part in the very same duality of hot and cold that created our very world. Take your try at a game of hnafntalf, hala-tafl, one-on-one tug of war, or “May I hit you with my bag of salted fish?”.
Join us under our 12 foot Viking tent for stories of our ancestors and our Gods and Goddesses that will catapult you into 9 worlds filled with gods, goddesses, fairies, trolls, giants, shape-shifting, adventures, war, poetry and more. Join us camping and come to our Saturday night Midnight blot in the woods. Os if you would rather, join us on Sunday at dusk for another chance to get you blessings from the gods and give your offerings for all the great things the Norns have put into your life. Family-friendly, 420 friendly, officially however, alcohol is limited to mead for ritual use only while in the park. State Park parking permit required and can be purchased at the entrance to either part of Minneopa Park, or online through the MN DNR website. Come for the weekend or just for the day. 4pm Saturday until 4pm Monday we will have the site.
